Training

Plastic Injection Molding

Technology I

This course is intended for machine setters, process engineers, production supervisors, and quality control personnel.

Key Training Topics:

  • Standardized procedures for rapid and accurate setup of injection molding machines
  • Professional approach to the preparation of raw materials/granulates for processing
  • Correct configuration of mold cooling systems
  • Quality optimization – routine elimination of product defects
  • Plastic material properties – how to avoid damaging raw materials and how to properly handle regranulates
  • Duration: 2 working days

Objective:
The main objective of the course is to provide a thorough understanding of each phase of the plastic injection molding process. Participants will develop a rational approach to mold start-up and become proficient in the routine identification and elimination of common defects.
Over the course of two days, attendees will become familiar with the properties of polymers, the preparation of raw materials for processing, and the correct setting of injection parameters, holding pressure, and cooling systems. The training also provides methods for optimizing process parameters to ensure high-quality production. A dedicated section focuses on the accurate and timely identification of fundamental defects in plastic products and the appropriate corrective actions.
On-site training is available.

Technology II

This advanced course builds upon the knowledge acquired in the Technology I training module.

Key Training Topics:

  • Material properties – interpreting material data sheets and certificates
  • Runner systems – cold and hot runner systems
  • Cooling systems – the impact of cooling on part quality
  • Mold venting – design considerations, effects on cavity contamination, material burning, injection pressure, etc.
  • Part deformation – causes and corrective strategies
  • Workshop – practical training focused on eliminating defects in plastic components
  • Duration: 2 working days

Objective:
Participants will deepen their understanding of plastic material data and gain in-depth insights into cold and hot runner systems, with emphasis on their application, characteristics, and optimal settings. A dedicated lecture focuses on temperature control channels, mold venting, and the deformation of plastic parts.
The course introduces a second set of common plastic part defects, building upon the topics covered in Technology I.
The training culminates in a multi-hour hands-on workshop, where participants will engage in the logical identification of defects and the implementation of effective corrective measures.

Practical on-site training at the injection molding machine.

Objective:
This one-day training is designed to transform the theoretical knowledge gained in Technology I and Technology II into hands-on experience within the participants’ own production environment.

Key Training Topics:

  • Verification of raw material/granulate preparation quality
  • Mold start-up: Step-by-step parameter setup and optimization for the following:
  • Plastification (material intake and screw dosing)
  • Injection
  • Holding pressure
  • Cooling
  • Product quality optimization
  • Duration: 1 working day.

Objective:
Participants will engage in the practical start-up of a mold, progressing from standard to advanced parameter tuning of the injection molding machine, mold, and auxiliary equipment. The training provides opportunities to address not only simulated but also actual defects present in the customer’s molded parts.
This training is conducted directly on the customer’s machine and mold. Participants will learn new techniques for configuring and optimizing injection molding processes tailored to their specific production setup.

Project Manager / Procurement Specialist

This training is designed for both purchasing officers and managers. Over the course of one day, the attendees will become familiar with an overview of plastic material properties, possibilities for substituting raw materials with alternative granulates, principles of raw material pricing and market influence, and an introduction to the injection molding process and its impact on product cost.
Duration: 1 working day

Objective:
Over the course of a single day, participants will gain a fundamental understanding of the key factors influencing material selection and pricing, as well as how the injection molding process affects the final cost of plastic products. This training enables procurement professionals to make informed decisions in supplier communication, cost optimization, and material evaluation.

Construction

Mold Design

Mold design is not solely about selecting the mold material—but also about understanding the specific plastic material for which the mold is intended. During this two-day training, participants will gain insight into the specialized requirements concerning:

  • Selection and specification of mold materials
  • Design and dimensioning of the runner system
  • Cooling system dimensioning
  • Mold venting strategies

The training will also cover topics related to the properties of plastic materials and the application of modern software analysis tools for optimizing mold design. In addition, the discussions will cover topics such as plastic materials and the use of modern software analyses in optimizing modern mold construction.
